The Board of Directors of the Marie-Vincent Foundation and its treatment center is very pleased to announce the appointment of St\u00e9phanie Gareau as Executive Director of the Foundation.<\/p>\n
As a professional wishing to devote her expertise to a cause that was dear to her heart, St\u00e9phanie was Executive Director of MMFIM (Mouvement pour mettre fin \u00e0 l’itin\u00e9rance \u00e0 Montr\u00e9al)<\/em> before being appointed Secretary General of the Special Commission on the Rights of the Child and Youth Protection, created by the Government of Qu\u00e9bec in May 2019. The mandate of this Commission is to conduct an assessment of youth protection services, the law that governs them as well as the role of the courts, social services and other actors involved with vulnerable children and their families. She also worked for a professional order and for Portage, a rehabilitation centre for people with substance abuse problems.<\/p>\n Prior to her career in the community sector, St\u00e9phanie worked in political offices, both for the government and the official opposition, and at TACT Intelligence-conseil, a public affairs and government relations firm where she developed proficiency in coaching not-for-profit organizations with a social mission.<\/p>\n \u201cSt\u00e9phanie\u2019s experience in children\u2019s rights and her commitment to their protection will further strengthen us in fulfilling our mission and in continuing to build a better world for our children and youth,\u201d said Jessica Pathy, Chair of the Board of Directors of the Marie-Vincent Foundation. \u201cSt\u00e9phanie possesses all the professional and human qualities that the Marie-Vincent Foundation was seeking for this vital and fundamental role, and to effectively manage our organization and enhance its visibility.
